3 businessmen check into the Sheraton Hotel in Perth. They pay $30 to the cashier and go to their room (don't ask me why 3 men are sharing a room ). The cashier then realises the room rate is only $25 and gives $5 to the concierge to return to the guests. The concierge realises that he can't split $5 between 3 people, so the sneaky little guy pockets $2, then hands $1 to each guest. Now, each guest paid $10 and got back $1. They paid $9 each, totalling $27. The concierge has $2, totalling $29.

Where is the missing $1?

Glad I wasn't eligible for this one. I always miss the easy answer. I did the math a few times and couldn't find "the missing $1". I was getting frustrated. I've got to keep in mind that sometimes they aren't math questions, but trick questions.
