Question About the Tank on FZ6

Hey, my name is Michael, I recently bought my first bike, 07 FZ6 in super fast Yamaha Blue. I absolutely love the bike, i've had it almost 5 weeks and have put about 2500 miles on it.

But my question is, when my fuel level gets to about a half a tanks or so, when I try to open the fuel cap, there is a strong vacum on the tank. When I finally get the cap open, I can see the tank expand as the vacum is released.

Is this common on this bike or should it be venting somewhere to prevent this? I would think that it should vent.

Any info on this would be a great help.

There is vent tubes that go from the tank to right infront of the swing arm pivot by the center stand. Make sure those tubes arent kinked or pinched.

You have a pinched vent line. Lift the tank and make sure all the lines are clear and not pinched anywhere.

Chances are that the last time the tank was lifted, when it was lowered, the hoses got stuck under the tank.
