purolator oil filter differences?

hey fellas,
long time no post... so here it goes.

Anyone know the difference between the PL14612 and the L14612? I just got the latter of the 2 from pep boys @ 5 bucks each. I remember spending nearly double that for the newer version of the PL14612 Caterpillar Yellow ones. Anynoe know if the L version is ok to use?

L is fine, it is just not as good of a filter media inside. Its not bad in anyway, just there is a better one for a little more money.
