mods are evil!!!

ok... so i really want to get a puig screen but dont really know the way to go.. i would like the dark smoke screen, but like crouch low from time to time, so thats porbably out.. i wouldnt mind the light smoke one, but i dont want that fz6 logo stamped on the front, and i dont want to have to worry about my dash melting.. any ideas, or am i sol...

I've got the dark smoke Puig on my 2005. I didn't actually choose it, the guy who owned it before me did.

I tuck in every once in a while and I think it might just be the way I'm built but I can still see clear enough over it that it's not a problem. The part that it obscures is so close up on the bike that I'd be looking past it anyway.

It looks absolutely awesome and almost looks like it is "the" screen for the bike. I also don't get any buffeting (again, maybe an effect of my height or lack thereof) with it. It's great, though I don't have anything to compare it to other than my old GZ250's screen which wasn't as good (totally different thing, though).

My suggestion is to go ahead and get it. I really like mine. At absolute worst, get it and don't like it and then sell it. I'm sure it could sell pretty easily. Even better if you buy used. Could probably sell it for what you paid.

I wish I had some pictures for you but I may try to get some if the weather gets better day after tomorrow or so.

At any rate, good luck with whatever you choose!

Get my light smoke one :cheer:. It looks good and you can tuck in at highway speeds without reducing vision even at night.

i really want the ligh smoke one, but dont want the fz6 logo on the front of it.. I keep emailing this ebay person named soapcycle, but they dont ever reply back.. anyone know where to get a light smoke puig for an 05 without the fz6 logo in front.. I would like one iwht the tuning forks, but ill settle for no logo's at all

I have the light smoke one (well it's not that dark!) on my '04 and there is no logo on it other than a small Puig on the right side.

that really looks like the dark smoke screen... but thanks for the picture.. bike looks good

you can see through the dark smoke in day light. If you have good vision you might be able to see through it at night. If you are that worried about it just call up kneedraggers and ask if they have the light smoke with no logo.

I was going to say the same thing as madman. I've got the dark smoke and you can see through it just fine in a tuck during daylight hours. At night, maybe not as much (although you can STILL see through it).

yea but how well can you see.. say sunglass well or a bit darker.. and by how much darker????.. oh and what model is the double bubble.. and where might be a good place to buy from.. thanks :)

I would say it's as easy to see through as a dark pair of sunglasses...and that's with me always having a dark smoke visor on my helmet. So I guess you could say it's like looking through TWO dark pairs of sunglasses.

Seriously, while it is dark, it's not so dark that you can't see through it. And honestly, I don't think you'll spend as much time as you think down in behind it. I've had mine on there for two seasons and I've been in a big enough crouch to look through it MAYBE 3 times?

Also, take into consideration that it's going to look MUCH darker from the front (how you see most pictures of it) than it does from the back. I'll see if I can't get a picture looking through mine and post it so you can get an idea.

Ok, here's some pictures I took this afternoon to show you how dark the dark smoke Puig is. Note: This is inside the storage building where I keep my bike in the winter. Sorry I couldn't get some outside shots.

Reference shot to show what's in front of the bike:

What it would look like in a "tuck" position down on the tank:

Hope this helps with your decision.

Im sold.. thanks a whole lot man.. im supprised that puig doesnt post up stuff like this.. it's nice to get different angles when buying stuff.. thanks again man.. very very helpful!!

oh and what model is that one.. cuz thats the one that i want.. double bubble.. is it the racing one???

Hey, man, not a problem! That's what we're all here for, right? To help each other out and keep ourselves entertained?

That's the Puig Double Bubble Racing windscreen. I've seen it referred to as both the "double bubble" and "racing" but I believe Puig actually called it the "racing" windscreen.

Those aren't extended Crazy. They're the Puig frame sliders. I initially had the T-rex frame sliders on mine, but changed just because Puig made the blue ones that matched the bike...lol.

I really like them, actually. I've never had to test them out, and hopefully I never will, but they look good and are great to put your feet up on when you knees need a break on a long run.

Again, glad I could help LERecords.
