Powebronze Lowers Installed

Just got them installed and decided to post some pics. Took a bit a messing around to get them on right. I had to oval one hole so it would fit properly. The pastic material used seems of good quality but the the hole for the signal light on the right side isn't teardrop shape like the left one. I contacted them about this and they said they have been making all of them like this since 2008 but had no explaination as to why. I decided to move my turn signals to the pod light location using the existing front turn signal sockets and bulbs (put amber in) and use flush mounts in the fairings as running lights which will cover the oval signal hole. I'm plan on getting the lowers painted and this was just a trail fit.

I was going to post a video to show the pod light signals and how bright they are in daylight but couldn't figure out how to post it.

How did you do the pod light install? I want to do this but don't know what parts to get from the dealer.

My bike is about to get a re-make in a week (paint job and a custom made rear seat cover) and I would like to put pod lights in since my flush mounts don't do a thing to help from the front.

Not for the faint of heart. There are no parts needed. Simply use your existing stock front turn signal sockets and bulbs. You have to drill out the pod light holes to 7/8" and that's the tricky part. I really don't recomend this unless your very skiled at fabricating because you might end up buying new headlights.

The thing I'd be massively concerned about with using the Pod Lights as indicators is that they're only visible from the front not from the side.

I don't like to give cagers any more opportunities to say 'Sorry mate, didn't realise you were turning' after the feckers knock you off.

I got notification that my Powerbronze lowers arrived a few days ago and they're in the process of being prepped for fitting to my bike. Can't wait to get them fitted and get out on it again.

Nice example of the S2 PowerBronze Lowers! For anyone interested, here are the PowerBronze Lowers fitted to my S1.

I really like how they look - some think it looks like my Fizzer is pregnant, but I like 'em!

Nice example of the S2 PowerBronze Lowers! For anyone interested, here are the PowerBronze Lowers fitted to my S1.

I think the S1 lowers are a better fit than the S2. You don't have to worry about fitting around your turn signals and the quality seems better. Your pictures is what made me decide to purchase the lowers.

One thing I did notice after a short ride was that the fairing directs the hot rad heat directly onto my left leg.

I always wear jeans/riding pants, so haven't noticed any extra heat being directed toward my person.

I loved the look of the half-faired stock FZ6, but the PowerBronze lowers fit so well, and look 'factory', so I reckon it looks better again!

One minor consideration, though, is if you even want to LOOK at your engine, do an oil change or otherwise, you first have to remove the lowers.

I got these lowers by unintended purchase. (I bought a headlight for a potential projector install, as I didn't want to 'cook' my only one - and these came with!)

One minor consideration, though, is if you even want to LOOK at your engine, do an oil change or otherwise, you first have to remove the lowers.

You have to remove your lowers to do an oil change? On the S2 I can change the filter and drain the oil without removal.

Yeah Dave, as seen in the pics, the lowers mount to the sidestand switch bracket, covering the oil filter.

No major hassle, 2 Allen bolts and you could hold it away enough to get the filter off - or 4 to totally remove it. (plus the two on the front join)

How easy was it to install them? I am looking at doing the same mod on my '07 S2. I've also got some Shogun frame sliders on the frame screw, would that fit?

How about stuck flasher? Do they fit OK? the hole doesn't seems to be at the same location as the stock one (I'm probably crazy here :BLAA. I broke one of my flasher and I had to glue the mount to the fairing .

To install the frame sliders your going to have to relocate the bracket on the left side fairing and be brave enough to drill holes in the right location on your brand new fairings. I'm trying to find frame sliders long enough with spacers to work with the fairings. Holes match up to your turn signals so you can use your stock ones but your going to have to remove them every time you want to take your lowers off. Better off getting some flush mounts.

That's gonna give me a reason to get rid of those stock flasher. I can't find a good place to mount them right now..
