Hi guys yesterday I noticed the bike was running a little different to normal, mainly it seemed "grumbly" so thought I would put the carb tune on and check the throttle body balance.
When I attached it and started the engine up all but one of the gauges were working and balanced with one another, so I messed about swapping the pipes to ensure it wasn't the gauge, all seemed well with the gauge, tried adjusting the throttle body on the adjuster screws and there was nothing at all from number one.....
So I decided to investigate further, took off the airbox and there it was.....a split vacuum pipe
trimmed it back a little, refitted and put everything back and to my delight it sorted the problem out and now purrs like a kitten once again...

Great job however you may want to replace those lines.

Rubber dries out with heat, age, etc / fails (as you found).

Cheap investment as the next one (or the same one), fails again..

That's a great point, if it has done it once it is probably likely to do it again, especially as there was nothing near it to cause it to rub and chafe...
