If you commute in a cold/mild/wet-weather climate and have fog problems with your helmet at all, you need to take a look at the pinlock system. I finally bought the shield with a clear and dark smoke insert and they're extremely effective. I rode around in the traffic last night for 15 minutes with all the vents closed trying to fog up the helmet to no avail. This morning I rode in at 35F, a 25 minute commute, and I had zero fog form on the pinlock insert. Fog does form around the insert where it's just the regular shield, which is a pretty good indicator that it's working.

Highly recommend this, I tried a couple different liquids and then inserts before taking the pinlock plunge, totally worth it. Here's where I got mine: Shoei Clear Shield with Pinlock Pins for CX-1V Helmet - - Motorcycle Superstore

That's just awesome. I really appreciate your advice on this one. I just love my SHOEI helmet except the fog issue. I ordered some today. THANKS,
