I just bought a pair of radiator covers from ebay. the one is like new, the other one has some scraches and a little bit of rust
I'll sandpaper it and then paint it
Which paint to use??
Is there any spray to match the other aluminium parts of the bike???

if you ask me, you dont even have to sand it...but since you have scracthes just get any medium sandpaper and sand it lightly..mine are painted satin black and it held up perfect so far..

I used the high heat engine paint in satin black and then the clear coat. The clear coat formed tiny little bubbles in it, though. Currently, they are being powder coated with all of my FE pieces and connecting brackets. Good luck with your project!

sand everything out with 320, then follow with 500 grit.
If there is any bare metal (will be) you will need to etch prime them before painting, it will stop rust from forming and allow paint to stick to metal. you can buy these in a spray can.

as for matching the paint, im not sure about matching the silver however I spray painted mine flat black (matches the rest of the engine) and it looks much better than the silver IMO.
best of luck

VHT brand paint and a heat gun. Follow the VHT engine paint curing guidelines and you are golden.

It comes in aluminum color, but you will be happier with flat black.

Aren't they made of aluminum? (use magnet)

If you want them silver and they are aluminum, just sand them using increasingly finer grit sandpaper and finish with a good metal polish and they will look darn near chrome (or polished aluminum)

ok thx again,

First i'll try polish it as it is with some metal polish ,
if doen't work, i'll sandpaper them

You will have to sand them smooth before metal polish.
Think about it like this, you start with the roughest and move to the smoothest in graduating steps. If you start with a fine metal polish it wont do anything but shine the smooth areas first. I am sure you could do a search on google and find steps with pics for polishing aluminum.....good luck.
