Hi All,

Went out for a bit of a ride this morning, when I got to a stoplight, looked down at my motor and lo and behold, there was oil!

I'm not certain what this cable is or what it goes to, but it seems to be coming out from under where it attaches on the side of the motor?

I'm no gearhead, so any thoughts/ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks!

It should the wire for the stator. It shouldnt be all leaky. Maybe wash it off and see if it comes back? Is it still under warrenty?

I have to think you are seeing some oil dripping down the wire, onto the cases rather than leaking out of the cases at that point. It may be that you are seeing some oil running down the wire from chain 'fling'....

First photo shows my alternator ('o5, silver painted motor) looking back along the side of the engine.

Second photo shows the area right behind the frame spar, where the alternator wire crosses near the gap in the front sprocket cover. Could be that's where the oil is coming from.
