Officially Official: 2010 Aprilia Shiver 750

Last year we brought to you leaked photos of the 2010 Aprilia Shiver 750, which showed the naked bike getting a facelift from Aprilia. With its official press release on Friday, Aprilia has released more photos and details about the Shiver 750, which confirm our earlier reports. The 2010 Aprilia Shiver 750 looks as expected and features some minor touches like a lower seat, wave brake discs, revised sitting position, and a narrower rear wheel (5.5″ from 6.0″). Aprilia hopes these revisions will help sell a few more Shiver 750’s this year, and clear stock for the next iteration of the Shiver line. How do you think they did?

Looks like a great bike. I rode last year's model at the AF1 Racing open house last summer. I was able to take it on about a 20 to 30 minute ride. I couldn't really open it up too much because the ride was very controlled.

The power was nice, much better mid-range than the FZ6, smooth, great brakes. I didn't care of the MX type seating position, too upright for me.

I think that this would be an excellent bike for the city, or tight twisty roads. It would make a nice tight course roadracer with lower bars.

great looking bike however that rear reflector mount is really crappy! Seems like there must be a better way to get the required rear surface reflective area for road-going requirements.

More Aprilia news:

After a strong showing at this year’s Dakar Rally, Aprilia has seen a growing demand from non-factory backed teams who are interested in running the Aprilia RXV 4.5 Rally bike in the Dakar and other adventure racing series. Bending to this demand, Aprilia, in conjunction with Team Giofil, will be making available ready-to-race RXV 4.5 Rally motorcycles to private riders.

An exact copy of the bike that Francisco Lopez raced in this year’s Dakar, all the Aprilia RXV 4.5 Rally’s will be built ready-to-race by Aprilia Racing, and sold by Team Giofil for €37,000 (VAT included). There is also a conversion kit that will be available for riders that don’t need a ready-made motorcycle, which includes the necessary upgrades to take a standard Aprilia RXV 4.5, and make it into a Dakar-ready model. This kit will cost €16,000 (VAT included), and can be ordered from either Aprilia Racing or Team Giofil.
Now the only question that remains is how long it will be before we see a race replica that will be available to consumers.

Very nice, but the MV Brutale still wins :)

Different position for the ignition. I don't like the multi-coloured lights on the dash but I love the look from behind :)

I wonder if they still lie about the 95 horses or if it will actually produce it now. The previous model lost over 20hp to the rear wheel, which is quite huge. I like them, but right now Canada has no distributor so it is all up in the air if we will even see Aprilia.
