Odometer disconnect?

HAHAHAHAHHAHHAHA!!!! ahh... had to get that out of my system.

But seriuosly, what's stopping you from buying a new 20007/20008 speedo and slapping it in?

a 'new' speedo has zero miles. He wants the mileage on the lcd unit to represent the miles the bike has done. That's his plan anyway

Why?

If he has to call the odometer inaccurate on the title, why even bother trying to make it close? If anything, it would make more sense to just figure that the bike had 18000, the new odo has 26000, so just subtract 8k to get the actual odo reading. A future buyer would be much more likely to believe that than "oh, I disconnected it and guessed when I got close to the mileage"

He isn't going to say anything in the title. He knows the original mileage and simply wants a clock to reflect any future mileage he does. He has bought a clock with 26k and if he disconnects it from accumulating more miles (and records his mileage use) then he will be able to connect when he reaches 26k when the bike has covered 26k. TNo guessing involved if he uses GPS. That's his idea anyhow

just disconnect the three pin plug under the tank that comes from the sensor,you,l have no more milage and no speedo,but every thing else will work ok
