Today I loaded the Texas State holidays into Outlook.

In addition to the usual Christmas, New Years, etc. We have some interesting ones that are uniquely placed.

On August 27th we have LBJ's Birthday. I can work and get a comp day for only being here for four hours, woot!

On March 2nd is Texas Independence Day. Another comp day!

Then on April 21th is San Jacinto Day, or Kicked the Mexican Army's Ass day. One more comp day.

But the best is this pairing.....

MLK Day is Monday the 18th for January followed by

Confederate Heroes' Day the next day!:confused::eek::confused:

All I know is I've got a four day weekend. Maybe track day season will kick off that Monday...

Oh and Fiesta! April 15-25.. Texas's version of Mardi Gras. Schools and most businesses around here give you a 4 day weekend for it. They like to party here.. now if only the music didn't sound like a all day adventure in Disney Land...
