Went for a ride up in the mountains with a few friends Saturday and as I led the group down the east side of Fort Mountain we encountered a lady waving her arms frantically in the middle of a series of nice switchbacks. I then noticed a guy lying in the ditch on the right hand side of the road, under his brand new Ninja 650...still bearing the drive-out tag. We lifted the bike off him and found he only had some abrasions and bruising. He had gone wide in a lefty and gotten into sand left from the winter road treatments. Bike had lot of cosmetic damage, but he was able to ride down the mtn. as we followed to make sure everything checked out ok. So be mindful of the hazards of early spring riding peeps...it'll jump out and bite ya.

Good point. I'm glad the guy was ok. The roads where I live are starting to be really inviting with the snow gone but it's the stuff the snow has been hiding that makes for just as dangerous of a ride.
