Nice Rides & Roads to ride in Oz!...post your pics

The BSA with the pedals was pretty funky. Apparently if you stop you have to pedal it to get the donk going again as it's direct drive. So if you want to keep the bike running on the spot you have to ride round in circles:eek:...lol.

Ok kiddies, this thread has sorta faded from our view.......:spank:, so i guess it 's time to give all you Aussie's a hard time.....

Oi! C'mon boys, get snapping & start posting.....here's some from Ozzieboy's & my ride on Sunday........first 2 are taken just outside of Birdwood, on the road that goes through to Tea Tree Gully, via Gumeracha, cant remember it's name but it is a continuation of North East Road, and has some great corners, and aint too bumpy! Also connects up to Gorge Road, and Cudlee Creek road...both awesome roads full of "Twisties".

The 3rd shot is taken just near Victor Harbour....some crazy, bumpy backroads that Ozzzieboy knew like the back of his hand! will need Ozzieboy, to get in here and post the names of these 2 or 3 great little "Secrets".

Finally, the last photo is taken out the front of the Bakery at Meadows...where we ended up staying for nearly an hour, as we met 2 guys riding Ducati's...a brand new 848....dead sexy!, and a GT1000....even sexier IMHO, new Ducati, with old school styling....best of both worlds.

Also met a nice couple, and their bikes, hers was a Monster, his was a Suzuki GS500.....Had a great chat, and shared a few stories while we were there.

LMAO:rof:....If you're after road names, I can't help you much. I sorta gave up on memorizing road names after moving state/country for the 7th time:don'tknow:. (LOL, no not chased out.....never caught:eek:)

I can describe where they go, roughly where intersecting roads go and where the bumps are. I've driven these roads hard in my 4 wheeled machine, so many times that if it wasn't for traffic, farmers, tree litter, or livestock I really do think I could get a fair way along them blindfolded...lol.(:needpics:)

One that I can name is the Old Willunga Hill road:bow:. Ideal for scrubbing in a tire as it is tight and twisty so you don't have to bust out over the speed limit trying for some lean angle:cheer:. As a matter of fact, for 1/3 of the way down this very steep hill I don't really move the throttle and just run at one speed.

I can usually scrub in a tire by heading there via Clarendon and Meadows, doing 4 downs and 4 ups then head back via Meadows and Clarendon:thumbup:. The real bonus is that there is a large open space at the top to wait out the traffic safely away from the road, so they don't slow you down too much and with Victor Harbour road shooting it's 2 lanes each way up the hill, most people don't go the old way.:D

I'll get some video one day.

Here's a couple more pics from our ride on Sunday, these were taken at the Big Rocking Horse...except it doesnt rock!!!! The big Rocking horse is just outside Gumeracha....

Been reading the thread about the "Hero Camera".

Got me thinking, I might make up some mount and throw my daughter's 6 Mp camera on there, it's more a still's camera, but it does take a reasonable movie... Just gotta rig up a mount and away we go.
Still want to get a good camera for bike movie's... even if it just to capture the stupid thing's cagers do.. then post it up on You-Tube.

If I get it done, I'll have to chase up Mike for a D-Road run :thumbup: (I'll need Mike, I don't even know where it is...lmao)

I'll head up to Bunning's and grab some stuff, then I'll let you know when I'm gunna make them.

Was just looking at the bike too, might make up a bracket for the R/H engine mount too, and when I put my Oggy's on, put that on, and can use either the bar mount or side mount.

All sorts of ideas flowing now :rof:

Yay for me. My "plan 'B' " camera mount was put on test today and worked a treat.....more than can be said for the camera...lol....Anyhow. Here is a vid of my tire scrubbing in road.

The front bolt of the surround. If I turn the mount sideways I can even fill up without removing the camera. I'll do a write up at some point. It's even easier and cheaper than yours(Slacker some might say:rof:)...lol...I used 1 pce of PVC pipe, 2 bolts and a nut....LMAO. Drill 2 holes. That's about it.

Camera Doesn't like bright light or shadow but I reckon it'll actually look pretty good on a cloudy day.:thumbup: I'm just putting another one up too.:rockon:

Here's my second one. Found some nice low traffic areas today which came as a surprise. Most places were thick with cages trying to kill us:Flip:.

More aggressive music...lol....makes it seem like I was riding faster :thumbup:.
