I wish I had took some but when I did the lap of Tassie last, it was on our last day and I just wanted to get home and see my babies. We are going again on the Australia DAy long weekend so I will make an effort then. Queenstown is such an awesome place too. On the day we left there it was 26 degrees at 9am and we were all set to go and then suddenly it poured down flat out for 10 minutes so we ran inside dreading riding up that mountain in the wet and not at it's full potential. It stopped raining, put our gear back together again which took no longer than 10 minutes and the roads were dry again. It's a strange place.

The Yellow Honda had no problems being a V6. It's my uncles and he can ride. He actually was the first to arrive at our first stop but only cause myself and the VFR stopped for coffee at a driver reviver. The black Honda Shadow was last all weekend (new rider) and the harley was leaned so far at times it bottomed out his pipes.

Here's some pics of 99 bends. This is the very start with the best scenery. Alot of the trees are growing back now as seen in the second pic. There was alot of acid rain in the past I believe from the mining practices on the west coast which gave the land this awesome appearance. Probably the best road in Tas, just pips the others because of the view and you don't get a rest for a few k's too.

Top lookin road :thumbup: Can I ask what the surface is like? The previous youtube clip in this thread has been removed & the only other clip I can find is of the Targa.
I would love to do this ride however the clip that I found shows the surface to be pretty shoddy.

What I remember was that it was fantastic. I can't remember many potholes or edges crumbling or anything but I could be wrong. I think I was really impressed with the roads on the West Coast the most of the whole trip. But being from suburban Hobart this means nothing really, a mud track would seem great. I'll see if I can track down some more pics.

Went for a spur of the moment solo ride today through Delamere and stopped fro a coffee at Victor Harbour. While slurping a great coffee a heap of old bikes came through and parked across the way so I trundled on over to see what was what and found the Adelaide Antique Motor Bike club was doing a thing.

Didn't have my camera so my phone got a workout. Sorry the quality isn't so good.

Did have a chat with a bloke who is a member of the Melbourne Antique Bike club who was staying in the same motel as these guys just by coincidence....lol.

Anyhow, enjoy.

A lot of these guys have to make their own parts, as they are rarer than rocking horse dung.

definitely,safety first every time.spent most of today prepping bikes-chains,tyre pressures,fluids,nut and bolt tightness,lever freeplay etc.

All of us wear full leathers,have good boots,gloves and lids.man I am even drinking coke at work tonight instead of my usual ten beers!

I told the bloke I was yakking with you guys'd be disappointed you missed it.

I heard a little bit here and there but they weren't there for that long unfortunately. The BSA with the pedals was pretty funky. Apparently if you stop you have to pedal it to get the donk going again as it's direct drive. So if you want to keep the bike running on the spot you have to ride round in circles...lol.

LOL!that would make life pretty interesting at the traffic lights,bikescriding round on circles all over the shop.
