Nice Rides & Roads to ride in Oz!...post your pics

Ok, just got home from another great South Aussie road ride, this time with Ozzieboy (Mike), and my 9 year old son, the "co-pilot"!

I think we covered over 200km's this afternoon, after quickly stopping in at Yamaha World, so i could swap my new Hornee Jeans, then to Maxi Moto, so Mike could buy some nice Draggin Jeans.

Then it was off to Victor Harbour via South Road, and Victor Harbour Road...not the most inspiring of rides, but it got us to Victor, where we stopped for a couple drinks...and lots of Potato Wedges at the Crown Hotel.

Then it wa time to hit Delamere Road....this road is sublime, perfect flat top,m lots and lots of big open sweepers...sat in fifth & sixth gear the whole way, did not hardly touch the brakes...Great Road, before travelling back to Adelaide via Second Valley, then stopping for a few pics at Lady Bay, then via Normanville, back onto South Road, a quick stop at Mikes parents house at Aldinga, and home.

If you like to nail your throttle...Delamere road is your road...along with about a billion bugs...my bike, helmet, and jacket are filthy!

Here's some nice pics i took today at Victor Harbour & Lady Bay. I think Mike has got some nice photo's too...hopefully he wil post them as well

Another great South Aussie road ridden, more to come tomorrow...bring on the Hill Climb!

:Flash::rockon:

LOL!love those number plates mike!was thinking before that we did not see one car on all 40km's of delamere road today?makes it an even better road!

Your number plate fell off in these pics...lol.:spank:

That's the third time I've done that road car free.

Top road, loads of wedges, some ambience and I got to meet the wolf cub. Top lad. Loves his riding, looks through corners and steady as a rock.:cheer:

Good choice of photo spot too.

If anyone is concerned the moving shot was in a 25kmph roadworks area with no roadworks and no traffic.....came out well too...lol.:D
Cheers
Mike

Ambience....yes the barmaid at the crown was very distracting!

And yes my lad is a great kid,my best buddy, heaps of fun to hang with, and awesome on the back of a bike!casey stoner is his idol, closely followed by chad reed...at least he knows talent when he see's it!

That photo of him on my bike is awesome...top job mike,he will go nuts when he see's it.thanks a big bunch for doing that.
re photo locale, that is a beautiful spot...saw about 4 other great spots that we must stop at in the future...just another excuse to go riding!

Your lad's a budding photographer too I hear? Was telling Simon in yammy world about the photos he took at Super cross.

As for that snap shot....I'd been lining that one up the whole ride and only found 2 good spots.....that one made it easy.

Yes my boy is a fast learner, and does take a pretty decent photo.

Now as fir this thread I think we need to organize the cancelled great ocean road ride again, and,or the tassie road trip.really want to do tassie in the new year is supposed to be motorbike riding heaven and am sure a great source of great photo op's

Then it will be done , i'll do Mt G for u next weekend and go ballistic with the camera , Mt G is becoming infamous for that same reason it often claims 3 lives in a week but still ppl just dont learn

...or don't lean:don'tknow:

was up Mt G yesterday mate - weather looked threatening so the road was quiet for a Saturday....

Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious are top Brisbane rides

Im doing Mt G on saturday then into Esk and up to Crows nest and then back down through Spring Bluff if your interested.....

Yeah mate, its a great piece of road. Its only really been patrolled in the last few years.
So be warned, its such a fun road & easy to earn a fast riding award from the boys in blue.

Yes those highway patrol cops dont have a very good sense of humuor, when they catch you going for it!

Fines, etc, are massive in NSW are they not?

Very true on both accounts guys. The fines are brutal but at least we get a bit of lee-way. Something like 10% over.

Vic coppers get you for 2K over the speed limit. Ruthless :(

Here is another favourite Rd.
The Putty Rd.

This is NOT me & this is NOT an FZ6 but its a nice bit of road. Fun road but you see kangaroos quite often.
Here is a mate makining the trip from Milbrodale to the halfway house

Here's some pics of 99 bends. This is the very start with the best scenery. Alot of the trees are growing back now as seen in the second pic. There was alot of acid rain in the past I believe from the mining practices on the west coast which gave the land this awesome appearance. Probably the best road in Tas, just pips the others because of the view and you don't get a rest for a few k's too.
