Updated It's a Buell w/pics

Well I love my fz6 and am keeping it for the long haul but would like a little more hp and torque. So looking around add seeing what I could do about that I found the best option and it was 50% off right now.
It's a Buell 1125cr!!:ban:
I fell in love with this bike the first time I saw it, and after test riding it I new I wanted to own one. Then with buell closing down it was now or never for it so I bought it. I really was trying for the faster red one's but they both sold the day after I talk to them but still the black one is nice to. I'm also getting both set of handle bars free (they replace the very forward clubman bars with the relaxed ones from the lightning). Reading the net most people think this bike is ugly but to me it's one of the best looking bikes I've seen.

I only got -500 euro's on their stock model.
Tomorrow I'll know more on the new models coming in. I hope they get a big discount as in the US.

Make sure you have the new 141 flash, you probably have the 10Z or the 12 Z, get the 141. Not every dealer has it. If they don't they need to update their Buell Tech Machine. The 141 will make the throttle 98.2% perfect.

You may want to charge your battery too. Many are delivered deadish.

They have a pillion touring seat for $109. My wife did 500 miles on it with no complaints. In fact she liked it better than the Corbin on the FZ. She just wanted a back rest.

I'm kicking around the idea of getting an 1125R, but I have one red flag that keeps popping up in the back of my mind.

Here it goes... Let's say that Buell Motorcycles go the way of the dinosaurs. They go out of business and nobody restarts the company. How long will there be a reliable supply of spare parts and even more importantly skilled mechanics to work on them?

My nearest Buell dealer stopped offering them about 4 years ago and they still have some 2004 and 2005 models in crates. The next closest Buell dealer is roughly 80 miles away and they only sold 4-5 Buell's per year. These newer bikes are packed with technology, and they've gotten to the point that an average back yard mechanic can't work on them.

Will there be enough residual parts and expertise to keep these Buell's running 10+ years into the future?

Good question, and one that I would worry about as well. I had the same thinking when the FZ6 wasn't announced for the 2010 model year, but everyone gave great responses as to why it won't be a problem. As for the Buell, no idea what the parts/repair market will be like, as they have been sold selectively at specific dealers.

Back to the OP:

At first, I would have said it wasn't a pretty bike, but upon further review, it looks straight bada@#. And the biggest benefit I see is that those headers are nicely covered. Makes for a cool look. Just wish I didn't have the GF and could shop for jsut myself.

There isn't any more technology in a Buell than any other modern sportbike... if you can work on a Yamaha, you can work on a Buell, trust me A good mechanic will be able to work on Buells as well (and paradoxally, you won't find many GOOD Buell mechanics at the Harley dealer anyway...) the only potential problem is the tooling, but Harley/Buell use the same tools, so you'll be able to find them

The last time I was there (Late April, 2009) they had a couple of Blasts, and an XB9. No idea what they want for them, I can check if you're interested. That dealer is about 30 miles from my house. They're the typical Harley Davidson A$$hats that we know and love.

I don't care about the Blasts, but a 6yo XB9 still in the crater is ridiculous!!! and now with Buell going under it must be worth like $2k or something! If you ever talk to them ask them how much they want for it... I'd be interested if it's low enough... I still cant believe it... a 6yo XB9 sitting there... dumbasses......
