the highway is the safest place to ride, especially in the rain, and 2.5 hours isn't that bad.

Good point, the traffc manages to keep much of the crap out of the road, the only downside is if there is water I'd fear hydroplaning (which I'm a noob and don't even know if this happens on a motorcycle, but it sure happens in a car).

A lot of accidents happen on smaller roads and at intersections. True that.....the highway is safer.

If your not comfortable riding in ANY CONDITIONS, DO NOT RIDE, PERIOD...

Get a trailer, wait for better weather, etc..
