Hi guys i just got myself a 87 fz 600 been sitting for quit a few years now and just wanna get some ideas on what to do first to try to get running also i need some ideas on trying to hot wire it cause it has no ignition switch and i cant find the wires for it!! Need some help

Congrats on the new bike. The forum is mainly for the 2004-20xx FZ6, but we welcome older FZ owners too....

Usually the biggest problems with bikes that have sat for a long time, is that the carbs are messed up. The old fuel gums up passages requiring a time intensive cleaning at the least, and usually a rebuild of some sort.

As for the wiring, good luck. Maybe you can get an equivalent ignition key assembly (with a key) from a motorcycle junkyard.

sea foam carb cleaner in tank will help with gummed up carbs. Starter fluid into carbs to start her up. Ignition is easy if the steering head is not locked... trace the wires to the switch cut jumper together and press start.

If it's not running, no amount of fuel treatment will help. It'll require a complete tear-down.
