Depending on how soon you come to visit, it still gets pretty cold, especially at night. Not uncommon to get around freezing temps or below. So bundle up.

There are a lot of places that rent Harleys. They are very cheap as long as you have your own gear. I know the main Harley Dealership located on Eastern Ave rents. There are a lot of other small businesses that rents as well. Just do a search.

You can also rent BMW motorycles from the local BMW Bike dealership. Just do a search on BMW Motorcycle Las Vegas and it should direct you to their website. There's only one BMW Bike dealership here.

You can also rent sportbikes here in Vegas too. Even an FZ6! But it's very expensive. I would go the Harley or BMW route.

As long as you don't time your trip during Super Bowl Weekend, you should find some great hotel bargains at all of the premier properties.

Well then it should seem very tropical to you over here. You won't have to worry too much about ice, as it very rarely rains here.

Go ahead and 4-5 star hotel it, but I think a Vegas gem hotel is the "Golden Gate Casino/Hotel" It's, I think, the city's FIRST casino hotel and it's a charming, Fremont Street hotel! I prefer it even over, say, Stratosphere or Harrah's. It's got a collection of 1930's era Golden Gate Bridge photos and other SF older photos. I love the old Vegas part of town. Maybe split your stay between the two, the strip and Fremont Area?

I was in Vegas a couple of years ago and rented a Sportster from the local Harley dealer - it cost me around $100 for 24 hours. I figured that was pretty reasonable for Vegas.

I was just down at the Golden Gate last week. It's home of the $1.99 shrimp coctail. It use to be .99 cents. Ate at the coffee shop, the service was absolutely horrible I actually moved sections to get away from our waitor.

Stratosphere, not in the best area. It border the crack/meth zone.

Harrah's great location. But these days, just about every hotel along the strip is owned by Harrah's. Caeser's, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Bill's, Rio, Bally's to name a few.

Wow i love Vegas and i am jealous just reading your posts.

We had a 4 day holiday there in 2007 (at the end of a 14-day holiday in the U.S.), after driving over from Long Beach, California.

We loved it so much we had a 14 day holiday based at the MGM Grand and we visited the Grand Canyon and Hoover dam, etc. :D

I wish it would have been on a bike

Just got back from 4 days ( and nights) in Vegas. Got in Christmas night. Had a great time. Stayed at Ceasars for an ave. of $125/nite and got upgraded. It was my new GF's first time there so we did all of the tourist things. Even did the rollercoaster at NY NY. Lots of fun. Saw the Cirque d' Soliel show "O", unbelievable!!

But the best was the last afternoon, we spent 3 hours across the strip at O'Sheas Casino. found a $5 black jack table. I lost $5.00 after 3 hours of play and my GF won $110. Went back to Ceasars and I hit $180 on a slot machine. so we both ended up taking home a bit of our money.

I was surprised at all the new construction since I'd last been there, ( 10 years ago). I thought Vegas was supposed to be dead, but they are just now opening a whole new area on the strip called City Center. There is the Aria Hotel/Casino, the Mandarian Oriental hotel and The Jockey Club which I think is condos or timeshares?? And they were opening a new building at Planet Hollywood hotel,. So maybe things are turning around.
