Naked: Phase One is Done

Well I took the plunge this weekend and Phase I is done. The fairing is off and the headlight is on:

Headlight: 6.5" Early Springer Headlight, J&P Cycles, $80 with shipping
Bar Clamps: 43 mm, Aztec8, $48 with shipping
Headlight Brackets: Free, made them out of 4mm T3 aluminum
Mirrors: Bikers Choice Oval, Cycle Gear, $50
Hardware: Knobs, nuts, vinyl spacers, rubber grommets, braided stainless steel water line, Lowes, $20.

Waiting on my Radiator Covers, I will mount the front blinkers to those. Still need to come up with a clean mount and housing system for the multi gague.

not a fan of the single round cruiser light. That chrome has got to GO! paint that headlight housing black or color match it to the red.

good work on the brackets, though.

Oh, there are all kinds of things that will change, hence the title, 'Phase I' :D
 
Great start.....cant wait to see what you have in store for us!

I think the single headlight makes the bike look a bit Honda Hornet 600ish!

But i like it, very clean, and classic look.

I agree that the chrome needs to go! I love the location of the headlight (you don't have it too high like a lot of people do), and the bucket headlight looks right at home on our bike. It does look Honda Hornetish, but I like it! Good job so far!!
 
I personally like the chrome headlight.... but the combination of the chrome bucket, and the aluminum fork legs, with chromed uppers really looks disconnected from the black frame, swing arm and engine.

Paint the lower legs black, and add some gaiters. Paint the unswept upper legs black, too....
 
you should stick with the F22 theme you went with on the exhaust. Something that flows with the lines.

Hope that springer headlight doesn't make you rev your bike like a "Fag" from South Park
 
Glad you're going naked, but I agree with Dirk - prefer not to have a round headlight.

I'm pretty partial to the sort of heart shaped headlight that my 08 has.

Look forward to see what's next :D

+1 on the mirrors. But I also have to agree with the no-go on the chrome. Looking forward to seeing the next phase! :D
 
Wow its looking real good!!!!! can you take a side profile pic with the bars turned straight?? or better yet maybe a quick vid walk around?? (I don't ask for much do I )!!!! LOL :thumbup: :thumbup: :rockon:

I want to move my mirrors too and was wondering if that would be possible since US bikes don't seem to have the install locations like the non-US specs bike do. How did you get them to stay put, but not have the levers too tight to move? I thought about double bolting them, but, did not think that would prevent them from moving.
