Well, after many months of back and forth.. ordering, canceling, ordering, back ordered, ordering, out of stock. ordering, delayed shipping. I finally have them! My very own pair of ASV C5 Black and red "shorty" levers! After being ordered on Feb 18th from SoloMoto parts for $199, and not getting them until March 11th!! They are installed and looking pretty! (along with a new HJC Chrome face plate, free, for my troubles!)

it only took about 30 min or so, and the results are priceless!
After putting them on, i sucked it up and took on the 35 degree weather to give her a quick test run, i had to use my thinner "summer" gloves to get the true feel, so you can bet it was cold as b@lls! (my winter gloves are just that, winter, big, bulky, Alpinestars version of north pole snowball fight gloves)

They seem to be alot nicer, and a whole lot more "solid". Where you could tell the stock levers are loose, and dont feel as sturdy, these levers feel as if they are truly part of the bike. The only two complaints i have are...

1. The clutch lever seems to be a longer pull than the brake, even after taking the brake all the way out, and the clutch all the way in, they still dont have the same pull length (as in your fingers have to stretch further to reach the clutch where the brake is right where you need it)

2. the shorty levers are a hair on the "short" side, which i guess is why they offer short and regular (duh) but even though i use only my first two (sometimes 3) fingers to pull.. is almost an awkward feeling (not bad, just awkward) i guess it willl just take time to get use to really.

other than that they are great, perform great, and look great... ill still have to play around with the settings to get optimal performance, but so far A+!

The chrome shield is a little g@yer than i thought it would be, but oh well, it was free... i thought it might darken things up a bit, but it almost seems to make things brighter, which is a plus, i have a clear and a mega dark smoke now, but i have a thing about people staring at me, my truck windows are mega tinted, and i like riding with my dark smoke screen, but you obviously cant use it at night or in the early morning, so this will work out good

so for all those :needpics:people out there... here you go!

Sweet! Don't you just love ASV?

Nice grips also... however, do they move your hands further away towards the end?

The FZ looks great!

thanks, yeah they do seem to move out a little... that little "bump in" is kinda a PITA, but they are still marvelous!

I've never paid too much attention to aftermarket levers as I have no problems with the stock levers, but dayam those are purty! Hmmm....
