My first trip around Nor Cal

I had the chance to ride from my home near the Oregon border in NorCal out towards Reno on Hwy 89 and then down through Truckee to Mono Lake. At Mono Lake I went up over Tioga Pass into Yosemite and rode through the park and spent some time in Mariposa after which I came back north by way of Yuba City. Amazing ride!

Overall it was amazing. I got lots of windy road experience and since it was my first road trip on a bike, I learned a decent bit about what I need and don't need.

Cali rider and I did a 4 day trip through NorCal/Oregon/Sierra's last summer and the scenery was much like yours. Can't wait to do that trip again! :thumbup:

A bit over a thousand miles. On the curvy roads I still was getting 61 to 62 MPG which was kinda cool.

Those pics and that route is very similar to my roadtrip last year. Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Mono Lake, Highway 89 and so on.

You were riding in my area, good stuff-eh? So where are you near Oregon Border? East, middle or west side?
Northern Ca has some of the most fun roads in the world! OK at least on the west coast.

The best....my dad built himself a house on Donner Lake outside of Truckee years ago, and I can see why! That whole area is amazing. I came back up Hwy 49 so it looks like I went right through your area. I live up on the Klamath River just a little west of Yreka if you know where that is.

It got down a little chilly, but I have a good Kelty bag. The next morning was terrible till I got down off the mountain and got a cup of coffee.

I rode up along the Klamath River last year through Big Foot country, forgot the higway number but it went through the Hoopi Indian Res I think?

Hoopa? Sounds like your talking about Hwy 96 which I've lived on just about my whole life.

Yep, 49 is here. I've been having fun exploring you neck of the woods the last few years. Forks of the Salmon, Titwillow rd from 299 to 36, Ruth Lake, Alderspoint etc. I like the less traffic in your part of the state!
