Since about Thanksgiving, we've had some pretty good snowstorms this year. Total snow accumulation has been pretty high, we've probably gotten 25 inches or more in my area the past month alone. Usually, we're just hoping to get a coating of snow for christmas since winter really starts hitting us here in early January, so the weather has been pretty unusual. About a week or week and a half ago, the weather was 0 degrees F, and a windchill of negative 30 degrees F.

This morning I took my girlfriend into work, and we got a short ice storm which gave us about a quarter of an inch of ice on the roads, which made getting around until about this afternoon really difficult. I was almost involved in a pile up on the highway.

Now, it's already 43 degrees F out and foggy, and tomorrow it is supposed to be a high of 62 degrees F, which is near the record. We're also supposed to get up to an inch and a half of rain between tomorrow and tomorrow night, and with those comes thunderstorms and a chance of tornados. Then the next couple of days after that it's supposed to get back into the low 30's. The rain is really going to kill us, since many small rivers and streams are already overflowing because the inches of snow that have been melting off with the rise in temp. It's going to be really interesting...

I just have to say, I'm 20 which isn't old, but this weather here in SW Michigan has been the craziest I can remember, as well as many others I know.

I'm at my girlfriend's parent's for the weekend, and I told her I was going to get her Buell Blast out tomorrow and ride it around, but I don't think she liked that idea! Ha!

That is quite a mix of weather conditions. I hope everything stays safe for folks in your area as overflowing rivers + freezing temperatures must be potentially tragic in regards to road conditions and housing damage.

We are going through the same thing here in Oregon. Only on a lesser scale. You always get this weather were as we normally just get rain. 14 inches of snow in the valley and 6-9 feet in the mountains. I love to ski but want to ride my FZ6 to. It's raining hard and we will probably have floods. What happened to global warming? Al Gore is full of ____. Sunday was the first day of winter which means the days will be getting longer. Brad - Same thing here in WI - except we don't have near the amount of snow you do! Temps were really warm on the 26th - we had tons of melting and lots of fog too. On Saturday the 27th we had rain - and quite a bit of it. Luckily the freezing didn't happen until most of the front went through so roads cleaned off nice. This winter has been really strange... Not warm enough though to get the bikes on the road. I always worry about the black ice around here.
