I rocked a 1990 Camry for my first car...something like 115 HP from that lovely turd. I still miss it, many good times were had on the back roads in that thing...
My S3 is 128 I believe.

Great threeeeeeeead!!!
nope - but not by much.
1965 Chev Corvair, 164 c.i. air cooled flat six. Rated at 104 hp IIRC. May have a pic somewhere.
Next car 9 year later - 73 Grand Torino Sport! 351 Clevland, 4bbl, 4 bolt main, 4 spd top loader, 3:50 posi... Awwwwwsome Car and good looking too. Had it for 25 years. Sold to Universal Studios for the the Fast and the Furious 4..... its in a thread, Gone but not forgotten or something like that.
PS My dad had a 71 Maverick Grabber 302 V8, 4spd, we built the engine in that too, added big brakes, posi, anti sway bars and lowered it. My fat Clevo would take it off the line! Yes, I raced my dad a time or too. Ffff'''''''ng A those were the good oll days, lighten 2nd gear up as I passed him! lol The Mav was fun car in the corners! Oh the memories of the 600 cfm carb sticking WOT into corner! HAHA!!!
PS - same care - I sold them the hood and fenders & bumper to convert it to a 72. They changed the color as red was for something else. Being all original, V8 spd, it was not supposed to get wrecked and the producer was to keep it. It didn't work out that way....
Nope. My first car was a '72 Chevy Nova 350, rated at 210 hp. Not the stupid 2dr model, I had the coveted 4dr sleeper!! I don't have a pic, but it looked just like this, except it was copper color. Couldn't afford to make it a real hot rod, so my mods were on the CHEAP: removed hubcaps and painted the rims silver; jacked up the back with leaf spring extensions; raked the front by heating the springs with a blowtorch ; and finally made it turbo with lots of Edelbrock, Hooker, K&N stickers on the back window. Oh yeah, I stuffed some wide ass 245 (used) tires on those skinny back rims.
Awesome thread, thanks Lefty!
Wish you had an acutal picture of that car Travis.

I think we all have that one car that we wish we never would have soldTo quote Joe Diffie, My first car was a pick-up truck! A 1978 Chevy "Heavy" Half Ton. Basically a 350 small block with a turbo 400 trans. and 3/4 ton springs or something to beat the emissions restraints back in the day. It came stock with 4.10 gears... If memory serves me it had around 280-300 hp/torque. Nice beater truck! And with those gears it would spank the POS 305 Camaro's of the day. My first street bike was a 1990 Suzuki Bandit 400. 50hp or so. HOWEVER, HP to weight my bandit smoked both my Cheby pick em up truck and Trans-Am. My first car was a 1981 Turbo Trans-Am... That was one bad ass car! 301 ci Pontiac Turbo Motor, 350 trans, T-Top, NASCAR edition, Red Recaro interior. My uncle was the original owner, he bought it when he separated from the Navy in 1980 and did a lot of engine and turbo work to it. He claimed 400 hp... That was almost 200 hp more then it was stock. I'm not so sure about that, but it was fast. When the turbo spooled up you better hold on cause the a$$ end tried to pass the front end! I sold it in 1992 when I joined the Navy... One of the biggest mistakes I ever made.
