Just thought i would share the last six weeks with you regarding my Fazer.
First, i went to the shop where i bought the bike complaining of loose steering bearing which they allegedly fixed by tightening the bearing up and charging me £30. I was aware of the problems other bikes have had through this forum but they wouldnt listen- according to Yamaha this was an adjustment and so was not covered by the warranty.
Two weeks later i had the same problem return and this time had new bearings fitted under warranty and had the bike serviced at the same time. Argued about a refund for the earlier adjustment and was told that it would take a while to get the money back - if Yamaha agreed.
Anyway two weeks later I was leaving work - put the key in the ignition and it would not turn, no matter what i did. Back to the shop again and after a week i finally have the bike back with a new ignition barrell, new tank and helmet lock and new ecu. Cost? They wouldn't say but who cares it was under warranty- how lucky was that? it expires next month.
It now feels like a new bike
I have just found out that Yamaha wouldnt refund the £30 but the bike shop have kindly paid up themselves.
Another thing- i was loaned a Yamaha XJ6. Not impressed, its too light and feels very budget, the only plus point over the Fazer is the gearbox.
