Help guys, since losing my brother in a tragic made cycle accident. It is taken my mother and father a while how to get back into the saddle. Recently they have joined a motorcycle club and are at long last experiencing some fun on 2 wheels again. My dad had only got one key with bike and now he can't find it anywhere. They live in Spain and any help or advice on how obtain a new key from the dealer without having to remove the barrels would be great

My forum brothers and sisters let's see what we can come up with.

Re: Lost 1996 CBR 750 key

there should be a code on the tumbler somewere, or possibly take the vin and proof of ownership to the dealer and they may be able to do it , or possibly take the fuel cap off ( if you can get it off without opening the door) and take it to a locksmith.? bout all the ideas i have! good luck

I was going to say the same thing about the dealer possibly having the code. Serial number tracking through a dealer would probably be a good bet.

It doesn't have an immobilizer?

Hopefully this will bode well. He's (dad) going to take the documents to the dealer tomorrow. Getting the bike there is going to be a different story altogether. They live in rural Spain and services are limited to say the least.

Key sorted, local family run business, two new keys and retrieval from the mountain for 140 Euro. Dad's pleased and delighted to be back on the road.

Glad to hear it worked out! Was hoping for a happy ending to this one.

At least tell us which VFR we're talking about here...gear driven cams? VTEC? :D

Sorry no pictures but there will be soon. The bike is the VFR750FR, the last model before the FI VFR 800 came along.

He actually found the lost key the other day in a coat pocket.
So now has three keys to lose lol.
