Looking to buy an FZ6

Hello, long time lurker first time poster :Lurking:
I'm from the :uk:

I passed my bike test a few weeks back and I'm looking for a bike. I am 95% certain it'll be an FZ6 and I've found one I quite like the look of and would like the wise counsel of your good selves.

The FZ6 I'm interested in is a 2006 model with 36,000 miles on the clock and I was wondering if there is anything I should be taking a close look at for this mileage?

The dealer claims the bike has a full dealer service history, no reason to disbelieve, and will be MOT'd and serviced before selling.

Since I decided to get my bike licence, decided in July this year, the FZ6 has been up there, with the ER6n, as my favourite (see that U in there? means I'm British ) bikes for what I am prepared to buy now. The Street Triple R is my dream bike but that's for in a year or 2.

So any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Don't decide on anything until you take it for a ride. It's the only way you'll know if it's suited for you.

I agree with Karen. Just like you wouldn't buy a used car without a test drive, the same should apply in this situation. "Dealer says" it has full service history - you may want to ask him to look at it. Also may want to contact some fellow-fz6'ers on your side of the pond and ask them to go with you when you next visit dealer. At a minimum I believe I'd look at both sprockets, the chain and brake pads. I'm sure others will provide you with additional input. Above all - RIDE SAFE. Mellow Mark in Houston

Good luck! That kind of mileage isn't bad for this bike if it's been well maintained. I'd definitely have someone experienced give it a good look over. Hope it works out because the FZ6 is an excellent bike, mine has been great and I plan to keep it till I can't ride anymore.
