Looking at getting an FZ6

I am looking at purchasing a used FZ6. I can pick it up for around $5500. It is a blue 07 with 1200 miles and no mods. How is the price? To me this seemed a little hi. It is from a private party. I would want to add a slip-on system and frame sliders. What are the best products of those for someone on a budget. Thanks and I have been following this forum for a while.
Selling my 06 Monster S2R for this, need something a little more comfortable and cheaper to maintain.

I'm from the ATL area and paid $4500 from 3rd party that had around 1800 miles. It was a couple of months ago. I think in a good market and economy, $5500 isn't too bad but I think It's a little high right now.

A private seller would normally recieve less than that, and the dealer never really expects to get what they ask.

5385$ It is very low miles though, and if it is in good shape no damage or what not, you cant go wrong. You should probably offer 4500 but bring 4900$ in cash if you want it. I wouldnt feel bad about paying 4900 in spring for a two year old bike with 1200 miles. Winter is another story but it will sell right now and quick.

I do live in Alaska and our riding season is still a month away. Bikes will start to sell like crazy in a few weeks. I already offered the guy $5K and he wouldn't take it because of his payoff. Sounds like he is set on getting out of it what he owes. The bike is in very nice shape with low miles, he purchased it last june as a left over model. I don't really want to spend the premium on a new one. There is an 06 red FZ6 for sale here with 2200 miles asking $5000. I heard there were several upgrades to the 07 though. In alaska we do live in a slightly unique environment for toys. The one Yamaha dealer in anchorage doesn't have to make any killer deals on its new stuff to move it.

How bad do you want it? For where you live that may be a fair price.1200 miles means it is almost new. You will save $$ compaired to a Duc.
Use the search function to shop exhaust and sliders. Plenty to choose from but it a add$ up.

I can't comment on your location, but that would be way too much in Ohio. I just paid $5400 pre-tax/title/doc fees for a brand new leftover '08. You'll have to compare it to whats available I guess. If your set on a FZ6, and don't often see 07+ models for sale, then you might not have a choice if you really want one.

i bought my 07 brand new for 6k, out the door. Look a round a bit first. You shouldn't have to pay off someone elses mistakes. But as others have said it depends on local supply too.
