Conti Road Attack 2 rear. Unknown number of miles (forgot to ask PO when he replaced), but I bought the bike in April w/9.5K miles and it now has 15K.

Front doesn't have these marks. Something briefly stuck in the hugger?

I think you might be right about the scratches, they seem to follow the arc of the tire

Tire mold marks, nothing to worry about..they will scrub off in the corners.

Yeah it's possible a wolverine took a well-timed swipe at your tire as you rolled past. Seems like the most likely scenario.
