LED tail lights and indicators

Just brought a set which arrived from China just before Christmas- no fitting instructions- looked around and seen that quite a few people have them fitted- any good tips before I start? Maybe I will photograph what I did for those following behind me.

Printed circuit board- has anyone fitted a set and did you protect the pcb with one of the proprietry sprays?

I had LEDE lights on my FZS6 and they lasted well for four or five years with no protection

I just bought a LED tail and brake light to save a bit of power while running my Gerbings jacket. I'll see how you mounted yours before I install mine.

I recommend having a table or a work bench right there! You have to take off the seat, side cowl's under the seat, and the rear grab bars. It is pretty easy though.

First job is to finish the wiring in the shed and get a heater out there- its still bloody freezing here!

im feeling really lazy right now, otherwise id post a direct link. go to the 'mods' section and look for the thread about the '19.99 led taillight'. in it, youll find a write-up with pics on how to do this. not knowing what taillight you have, ill have to assume its similar to the one i have. it should get you close...

I found the article and pictures on the tail lights under mods but that looks like a complete light unit- this one looks like a bit of DIY- I am happy with that.

Maybe tomorrow I will try out the tail and stop light as the rear bulb holder fits directly on.

The kit comes with resistances for the LEd turn signals but I think I will leave the standard ones on and have the tail light cluster ones as additional- never know with out strange MOT rules and regulations- a twin headlight conversion here is an MOT failure

thats pretty much the exact same unit i did my write up on. read it and your kit will make sense. i may be american, but can trust me on this one.:thumbup:
