Just picked up a 07.. quick question ( gauges )

Quick question (one of many to come, I'm sure.. I searched and couldn't find the answer).. is gauge cluster supposed to be loosely mounted (rubber-mounted)? I went to reset trip-meter and noticed the whole cluster moves easily back and forth about 1/2". Normal or do I need to tighten it up?

yep, mine is the same way. It has a fair amount of play in it. I think it's the norm. When you say back and forth, do you mean it tilts up and down, cause that's what mine does.

I have an 07 and there is a fair bit of give in it . probably the best way I could descibe it so I'd say your good.:rockon:

It needs vibration isolation or else vibration will destroy the gauges.
Many people who do streetfighter conversions don't properly mount the guages and they find that they no longer work because the vibration loosens the wires inside.

Mine's loose mounted too, as I'm sure they all are.
