That is a huge, wordy ad, IMHO. I don't mind reading informative, well-written posts, but your marketing background really does come through. I understand that it's important to get the reader interested in what you're selling, but for something like an on-line ad, hmmm, that feels a bit much.

If it were me, I'd opt for short (not Norm short, but that's funny, too) with a few key details and maybe a link to a review. I'd note any damage up front.

I'd never put my own phone number in an ad, but I always state that in order to get a response, folks need to include their phone number.

It really does suck that more folks just can't be a little nicer.

I thought it was a great ad. Yes, lengthy, but very informative and accurate! Next to an actual picture of the bike, some people have no clue what kind of a bike it is. People who are interested can read on, other who aren't can jump to the next ad.. Not sure what the big deal is.

As far as I'm concern, there aren't enough information in most ads online. Yeah, you want more info, contact the seller, in which you might be answereing the same questions over and over again. No need here, just about everything you need in form of a text is posted.

Your mini-review of the FZ6 on Craigslist shows your marketing talents!! It is lengthy, but I am confused as to why anyone would care??? Simple: If it's too long for you, don't read it! Sorry you got bumped, and good luck with the sale.
IMO: Can't hurt to post here, too. (Posting here is free, right?) Many "lurkers" come here to read up on the FZ6 before they decide on which bike to buy. I did.

IMHO,

I would rather buy something from someone off of craigslist that took the time to be descriptive and informative. It's also free, so you get out of it what you put into it, showing some sort of dedication or care for things in your life. This means if it's a bike, you've probably taken care of it if you've taken the time to describe so much about it.

People will be this way though, flagging and all. Good luck with the sale.
