I just bought this FZ6 as my canvas

Just picked this up tonight.

What is a good and affordable front light/speedo holder setup for this bike?

I would like to keep the fabbing to a minimum.

There's a member LeaN69 that makes speedo brackets for the FZ6. I'm pretty sure he has both S1 and S2 brackets.

what do you mean S1 and S2 ?

Different generations of FZ6?

Its a littl confusing searching parts for this bike because you get confilcting info about the difference in the year models and they the FZ6R is a whole other bike.

S1 and S2 are "series 1" and "series 2". I believe S1 was '04-06 and S2 was '07-'09, but the easiest way to tell is frame/engine color. Silver = S1, Black = S2.

There are some minor differences (swing arm, fairing/windscreen, speedo cluster, etc.) but overall they're pretty darn similar.

Keep an eye on the "for sale" section of this forum, you can often find people parting out bikes that have been totaled where you can pick up chunks of bikes for cheap - why buy a speedo separate from the brackets when you can buy both at once? Etc.

Yes S1 is 04 to 06 and S2 is 07 up.

S2 - the front brake caliper, fairing, sub frame, swing arm. instrument cluster, cooling fan (mounts) O2 sensor (added) etc. This would also mean there were some wiring harness changes.

So you want the S1 series, round, speedo mount.
