i was getting ready to post some hate-filled words when i saw this thread. now i am relieved.

i seriously sleep in a bed full of sweet potatoes. those fries are the reason i wake up every morning.

best combo:

1) sweet potatoe fries
2) steak or epic burger
3) guinness

OMFG mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........

Dude, you know nothing about sweet potatoes. Sick burn!

Try this.

6 sweet potatoes.
1/2 pound smoked gouda, cubed.
1/2 pound butter, sliced.

Place a cookie sheet on the oven's lower rack to catch any drips.

Pierce sweet potatoes with a fork and place them on the upper rack. Bake at 400 degrees until the potatoes are cooked.

Take them out and cut them in half lengthways. Scoop out the insides into a bowl and mix in the butter and gouda. When it's all melted together, stuff the mix back into the skins. Broil the potatoes until they have a light brown crust on the top.

Serve and eat.

cut the potatoes extra thin...
fry them till they burn...
Sweet Potato Chips...
Sprinkle with butter sugar and cinnamon

little salt if your daring

Damn you and your sweet potato thread... you put the crave in my head earlier. Now its midnight _at work_ and Lucky Devils is closed so I cannot eat them along with the other requirements in lonsoldier's list of perfection.

We do a Veganaise (brand mayo) because it's not a heavy oil mayo, and mix some curry to taste. Sweet Tater Fries are killer!

Vaughan Cunningham: You always seem to be deep in thought. Tell me, what are you thinking right now?
Karl: I was thinkin', I'm gonna take me some of these taters home with me.
Vaughan Cunningham: How about before that?
Karl: Well, let me think... I was thinkin' I could use me another couple cans'o that potted meat if ya got any extree.

With a 1/2 lb of gouda and a 1/2 lb of butter couldn't you replace the sweet potatoes with, say, sawdust and it would still taste fantastic - j/k

PS - hope you have your doc on speed dial if you eat like that all the time - but I'm all in for everything in moderation

I watched Sling Blade for the first time last Sunday. Then three days later I see this quote on the fz6-forum. Just another freaky coincidence that seem to happen every so often. Must be a sign that I should get some sweet potato fries.

The last couple of Thanksgivings I've made a sweet potato casserole that features, not marshmallows :tard: but chipotle peppers. The sweet/hot combo is fantastic; I'll see if I can dig up the recipe.

Yeah! Some one in our family made something like that but with the little marshmallows and without the chipotle.
It was killer!

I have to admit my mom made this once and it was pretty good. Not as good as them damn fries tho'.

BAKED APPLE, CRANBERRY & SWEET
POTATOES

6 med. size sweet potatoes
Water
1 c. sugar
2 c. fresh cranberries
1 lg. apple, thinly sliced
1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. orange juice

Boil sweet potatoes in water until nearly done. Drain and cool slightly. Peel and cut into 1/2" thick slices. In a medium saucepan, combine the 1/2 cup water, sugar and cranberries. Cook until the berries have just popped. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a 9"x12"x2" baking dish. Arrange layer of potatoes in bottom, then a layer of apples. Next add a layer of 1/2 of cranberries and their liquid. Put remaining potatoes on top and spoon remaining berries over all. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Dot with butter and pour orange juice over all. Bake in oven for 30 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
