HP

I have read in several threads, reviews and other area's about the stock HP for our bike's. They say that the bike's here in the state's have 98 hp, is that true, if so, by doing the slip-ons, PC111 and the K&N air filter does that increase it to what. I hope someone has Dyno'd there bike and can answer my question.

I thought it was 89 HP stock??

I know Wolfman dyno'd his bike after fitting the 2 Bros pipes, think he got it up to about 98 HP then.

I have an 05 and the stock HP is 98 (stated). Actual HP is probably a little less but not much.

I've read anywhere from around 84 HP, which is "at the rear wheel" (I guess this is real horse power) to 98 HP overall. Either way it's plenty. It could use a little more torque though, which is in the low 40's. As far as HP is concerned, it compares well to bikes in its class, IMO (like the VStrom 650 or the Ninja 650R).

Ahh, yeah. I was talking rear-wheel HP. If I can find the thread by Wolfman, I'll post a link. Pretty sure his stock bike was 89 Rear-wheel, then added 7 or 8 HP with 2 Bros and PCIII.

Most reported HP totals are at the crank for cars from manufacturers websites. Probably the same applies here. Dyno print outs posted on the site say 88-90 Hp from what I have seen stock. (Note: Dyno's can vary) So 98 at the crank is possible.

I have seen 03-05 R6 print outs saying 95 or so at the wheel so a bit over 100 at the crank.

You could always just dump the wallet into it, and supercharge it like that one fellow on here did. Then again, you'll need to fill your tank and change your rear wheel at the same time LoL!

07 was tested by Motorcycle Consumer News (US) great mag, trust their numbers to be correct.
Rear wheel: 85.7 hp @ 11,250 rpm
Torque: 42lb @ 10,000 rpm
