I know you said you figured it out, but for others who may want to know, you just go to the youtube video, click "share" copy the link, then go to "insert link" (the little globe with the chain link) and paste the youtube link there, it will show up as text in your message, but once you submit the reply, it will show the video.

For me it works just by copying the address and slapping it here... No "sharing" or "inserting" required.

Could someone please address this? I have seen it done, so I know it's possible... but whenever I try to embed a video, it doesn't work. Do I have to achieve some status before I'm allowed to embed videos, or is there just some trick to doing it on this site? I can do it on other forums, so I know I'm not a complete retard. Thanks!

If it's a youtube video, you simple grab the link from youtube and paste it in your post. It'll automatically get embeded.

What I do if it does not auto emded is take the share info from YouTube:

http://youtu.be/Lhiw-EHACcA

Then paste video info bit at the end into the following format:

[youtubevid]Lhiw-EHACcA[/youtubevid]

to produce....

[youtubevid]Lhiw-EHACcA[/youtubevid]

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. Whenever I tried to paste the embed code from YouTube, it wouldn't work. The truncated version of the URL generated by clicking the Share button was yielding the same result. I never thought to past the URL from the address bar. I guess I was over-thinking it!
