How to Hack Your Brain

I usually sleep for about 5 hours a night and feel completely rested.

I have been doing this for about 2 years and I feel completely fine.

Even when doing 12 hour work days and a 5 hour sleep I'm all good for the next day.

Seems like I'm a freak of nature.

Every time I hack my brain, I find a whole bunch of those little AA batteries!

Sleep is a complex and interesting subject. Just dreaming alone!
I agree I don't think you can make a simple chart or model of what sleep is. At the same time I think it's a good idea to challenge what we think is solid form and reality. Never hurts, you might find extra batteries!

I find myself tired at weird times.. I should be asleep right now, since I have to be up at 6am, but instead I'm listeining to Gov't Mule and posting on this forum.. I'll want a nap at 10am tomorrow.. And again at 5pmish.. I won't get one at either time.

I should go to bed..

my brain is patched to the last firmware, so no hacking for me...until someone finds new methods :(

Doesn't really seem like rubbish to me. I remember a study that mimicked animal 'napping' which had simmilar results. The guy was studying wolves and would sleep when they slept. Pretty much on the uberman schedule. Lots of short naps with no real sleep.

I've also worked a couple times where I'd work for a couple days straight, napping at break times and catching 3 or so hours sleep on the machine / in the break room to get the job done. I didn't feel great at day 3 or 4 but I was healthy and thinking clearly.
