Sun Diego FZ6
rides on!
Good to hear. I'm def getting the TB exhaust on in a few months. I've only had the FZ for a month so I'll enjoy the change in exhaust more by then.
Where do SD FZ members usually ride?

Just asking to see if there are other Southern SD FZ riders. I've been doing the Otay Lakes Rd. to 94 East route and have yet to see one FZ6. Shoot me a PM when you guys have another run.
I have ridden the TB exhaust for 2 years now, and my neighbor has TB on his R6.
At idle / low RPM, you will hear a low rumble just loud enough rumble through the house. We live in an apt where my bedroom is 30-40 feet (10 meters) from the drive. I can hear his R6 when he rides by, but if he goes by it's no big deal. I think the key is try to be respectful. Yes it's loud, but you can be cool about it...like he and I are.
Don't idle for long periods when people are likely to be sleeping.
Don't rev or ride at high RPM near the house.
Basically, just use common sense and go for it.
Sound is breathtakingly beautiful.
As for the tips...
Last summer I took mine out. They reduce sound by a hardly noticeable amount.
Per HowStuffWorks "What is a decibel and how is it measured?", the sound reduction is less than the difference between silence and a whisper...not much.
I have the blue ones on a blue 2009, and it looks sharp.
Although...the big hole looks sexy too. Personal preference.
As for being deaf...when riding on the interstate, the wind noise is so loud in HJC helmet, I can hardly hear the TB.
Would think expect hearing damage from that before the exhaust.
Riding around town, they are loud, but no obnoxious...below 5k. Get up around 10k and you have everyone's attention.
TB FE is not only used to hold the turn signals and licence plate, the clamps that hold the pipes are atached to it, so I'd say you need it.
That is what I thought I was just hoping to saving a little $$$. Thanks you guys now I need to break the news to my wallet.....
Dear Wallet,
You know I usually try to keep you full and happy but some things just take priority. This is one of those things....:spank:
Dear FZ6 (I haven't name her yet),
I hope your happy!! I cannot wait to install the TB and hear what you sound like.
^:BLAA:
My FZ want a TB too!
Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in real quick...
My FZ came with the TB Carbon pipes already on them, HOLY CRAP. These things are as loud as everyone says!! They look and sound great, though... I'm thinking about getting some of the dB killers, as I live in an apartment complex and work evenings, sometimes pulling in as late as 1:30-2 AM.
I do my best the feather the clutch and keep my revs down, and I coast into my parking spot with the engine off, but I'm sure they all wish I had my Wee-Strom back. That thing sounded like a sewing machine!! :spank:
Haven't had anyone complain to me yet, but I'm sure they notice it. I won't get rid of them, though. They look absolutely sick and I love that roar when you crack the throttle in 3rd and 4th gear. Gets cagers' attention for sure!! :Flip:
One thing that surprised me though, these things stay relatively cool even after abusing the throttle on the highway. I was concerned about their heat because I want to pick up some soft luggage, but it looks like I should be good to go.
In short, Two Brothers =:thumbup:
