Hole in engine?

Noticed that there's a hole in the engine on of left side. Sorry, I didn't check the service manual yet since I'm on phone atm.

i think it might be a drain hole for the spark plugs, or possible a mount location for the fairing?

It's a drain hole to keep condensation building up around the spark plug.

I agree! I had a wasp try to make a mud nest in that hole on my bike when the bike sat outside under a cover for a few days! plugged it all up, had to use a drill to clean it out! :spank:

Yea, I could see that happening! It's the perfect size hope for insects and the like. Very puzzling design. It's like an afterthought.

One of those tiny tube brushes would work as well.
