Help removing OEM fairings

Hey All,

I'm trying to install the R&G frame sliders for bikes with side fairings. This requires drilling holes in the fairing to allow the bolts through. Everything is dead simple except for the fact that the 2 fairings are joined together behind the front wheel with some sort of fastener that I don't know how to remove safely. Any ideas? Here are pics

Those look like push pin fasteners.

Take a small punch and push the pin out a little ways. That will allow the button to just pull out of the fairing.

You should not need to push the pin out all the way, just enough that the four fingers will relax.

To reinstall push the entire button back onto the fairing and then push the pin in to lock it.
