help me identify this Yamaha

Saw this yesterday and am presuming it is an early R1 or R6?
the single headlight is throwing off my guess

Can someone tell definitatively what model and year?

These must be rare. this is the only one I have ever seen

The first fazer was based on this motorcycle and buy all accounts was a much better power plant in terms of delivery and "hoon" ability. It only stopped production when it failed newer emission testing. Fortunately for us the idea of converting a super sports into a sports touring machine gave us the wonderful FZ6.

I'm pretty certain I saw one of these in the parking lot at work today.

Now I'm gonna check to see if he's there tomorrow.

A guy I met at work has that bike in blue, too. Pretty sweet to check out sometimes, especially when my blue FZ6 is next to it in the two wheel parking spot. :thumbup:

I feel a little smitten with this bike since I saw it a week ago. I would like to get one!! Anyone know production #'s? Trying to gauge the level of rarity, if any. I saw a couple of high mileage examples on cycletrader..
