Helmet Holder

Silly noob question here.

I just got a 2005 FZ6, and so far have been unable to locate a helmet holder/lock on the bike or under the seat.

Any help?

I believe that helmet locks didn't appear on FZ6s until 2007. There are lots of options to fit one though

I have a 2004 and there isn't a helmet holder before 2006 or 2007 I think, when they changed the fairing, clocks, subframe etc.

Yep, '04-'06 models don't have a helmet lock. You can add one (listed above), but I've found that since I got an expensive helmet, I'd rather just take it with me wherever I'm going. I've heard too many horror stories (whether they're urban legends or true) of things happening to helmets while locked on the bike, that I'm not taking the chance.

I'm with CCHOUSEKY. I have a lock, but my helmet comes with me. You should baby your helmet like it's made of glass. Take care of it and it will take care of you.:thumbup:

If I could take my lock off and you could use it without needing the key to my bike, I'd give it to you.

I've always had luck with just a simple gear lock wrapped around the steering stem or the passenger grab handle:

The plus side is if it is long enough you can also wrap it around the inside of a jacket arm and not have to carry your jacket with you.

I use a strong cable bicycle lock that I keep with me all the time.

It is long enough to thread through jacket sleeves and it has a strong enough coil in it that it can be locked onto the grab rails taking up its own slack. It is plastic coated so no chance of damaging the bike.

As you can see it can accommodate a lot of kit!
