Well hello to all,
I thought it was about time that i said hello, I am not totally new to this site and have often used its resources over the last year or so as a visitor.
I must say, it very informative and most of all very friendly so its about time that I contributed.

Firstly as the title states, I'm from Melbourne Australia and at the moment its DAM HOT.
So I'm not being overly keen on getting out on the bike, so I thought I would stay in the A/C comfort of my home and introduce myself.

I'm a 40's something female whom is motorcycle mad ! (Well at least thats what I'm told.) I have been riding for over 30 years and during that time I have had many bikes from dirt to full blown sports bikes, But the bike I have come to love the most is the FZ6 and I currently have two a 06 and an 08 model.

There is nothing I enjoy more (well almost nothing:thumbup:) than riding and personalizing my bikes with performance enhancing and subtle cosmetic changes, and my 08 is still a work in progress.
I have a few threads to offer and you will probable find me spending most of my time in the technical section.

Anyhow a big Hello to all and thanks for sharing your knowledge.

cheers
Mandy27

:welcome: Mandy, same name as my lovely wife.

2 Fz's ! woohoo :cheer:

You guys being coping the heat as well, fun aint it ! Just read on ninemsn that fires have jumped the lines east of Melbourne, not good ,hope it's nowhere near you.

Looking forward to your input on the bike(s)

cheers.

2 FZs...I'm envious of all you folks with more than one :) For a while I had 2, but I knew my lil Bandit was slated to be sold. I did manage to sell her to a friend tho. I'm going to visit her Sunday and hopefully get him more comfortable riding. Gotta get him ready to ride some twisties and do more than 30 mph :)

And, :welcome: I hope you guys and gals down under get some relief from the heat soon. It's been cold here where I live (not anything like those of you in the great white north!). I can't wait for some warmth, but nothing as hot as you guys have it.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the warm welcome :cheer: , the temp has just hit 46.1c in Melbourne
Told you it was Dam HOT!.:jawdrop:

Anyhow the fact that I have two FZ6 's was quite by accident "literally", 2 weeks before Christmas a rather nice old gentleman thought it would be a good idea to share the same lane that I was in, since I had a tramstop next to me I had nowhere to go, other than over his bonnet. It was a low speed off, but caused some $4500 damage to my bike. The damage was all cosmetic though rendered my bike un-roadworthy.

I noticed the 08 Fz6 (Demo) on the market with only 1500 klm's on the speedo going for a good price so I bought it. My old bike is still awaiting a new upper cowling, so once that arrives from Japan I will put it up for a sale.

cheers

Bad luck on the off Mandy, hope you were not hurt to badly, and wasn't it nice of that old gentleman to help you get a new bike like that;)

Those fires look bad over there ,noticed Avalon was at 47.8 !

:welcome: Hope the beads of sweat from the little dude with the welcome sign don't splash you:eek:...lol.

Just got back from a 300km ride in searing heat. Got my confidence back (mostly) after my recent off:cheer:. I just went down to order some parts for my beast and well one thing led to another and now 300km later I'm very very hot...lol. Hope to hear loads of stories from your neck of the woods.

Cheers
Mike

Hi Guys and thanks once again,
ozzieboy you must have lost some serious weight out there today and got yourself nice and squishy.
After watching the news tonight I think I am very fortunate for I am west of Melb, those poor soles out nth and east are in a tinderbox ready to explode, quite a few have already lost all they own.

cheers
Mandy

Another Aussie in the forum....yay! Would love to see some pictures of your bikes.

Quick question, are you planning on attending the Worls Supers at Phillip Island?
If so, Silverback, myself, and my "mystery pillion" will be attending from Adelaide....would love to catch up with another FZ6 rider there,if at all possible?

And by the way, welcome!

:welcome: to the forum Mandy, have fun and post lots. Looking forward to the pics,

The temperature's gone up here today, it's a sweltering 4 degrees C

:welcome: to the forum! I'd share some of our cold with you if I could!

The temp was 40 yesterday and we were actually able to get two of the bikes out for a spin (the XT250 and the WR250X). The poor FZ6 couldn't make it up the icy hill on the drive, so it had to stay home. Had a blast! :D

:welcome:

I saw all the fires on the news today ..hope none of these are too close to you (or our other Ozzy members)

PS I gotta laugh at the ratio of replys new female members get compared to males

14 confirmed dead in Victorian bushfires....authority's fear that death toll could reach as many as 40! :(

Welcome, Mandy27. So many Aussies on here that I might just have to pack up my '04 and head over. Been too long since I've been Down Under, would love to get back. You folks seem to be having way too much fun, and I'll bet a great group to ride with. Besides, I'm down on my VB quota.

Too hot there? Send a little this way. We're finally getting above freezing today and tomorrow after a long bout of "way too damn cold", so I'm digging out the bike today and prepping it for a long ride tomorrow. Gotta take advantage of this!!

Again, welcome, and by the way, great choice in FZ colors. We don't tell too many people, but it really is the fastest. Here's mine.....

Welcome Mandy27, I saw you lurking in the Aussie section the other day ;)
Great to see another Aussie contributing

We get a little respite from the heat today, currently 17 degrees outside, with a light sprinkling of rain... a welcome change.

:)

Nice pic there ANLR21, I like the lower fairing. I have the same bike.. '04 Silver... the best colour ;)

As soon as I give the bikes a good clean and make them nice and shiny I will post some pics for you all. "Dust everywhere after the extreme weather"
Wolfman, getting to the island will depend greatly on my work roster and whether I can get someone to change with me,, Ive missed the last two years of supers and the gp's due to work. So be rest assured I will be doing my best to get there.
However there will be a certain sorrow in my heart not having Bayliss there.
When it comes to Troy Bayliss I always think Valentino WHO ???.

cheers
Mandy
