Gloves?

I have a pair of Power Trip gloves, leather, wrist length and carbon fiber on the knuckles. They have a tear in them and need to be replaced.

With that said, what gloves do you all like? I have another pair of Alpinestars mesh gloves but I want a pair of leather gloves. So other than Alpinestars and the Power Trip glove I don't have any experience with other brands.

I'm looking for some input, cortech, joe rocket, icon what do you guys/gals like?

I'd like to stay with wrist length, not the gauntlet style.

Before everyone tells me they have a pair for sale my bike is blue/black and I wear a size Large :thumbup:

I've got a pair of Cortech Vice gloves. Quality seems very good, and they were priced at $80.

I have Cortech Accelerators they are my second pair (2 years 3 months) the first pair got replaced after I was involved in a hit and run.I like them alot although I am looking to get a pair of A-stars.

I have Cortech Accelerators, Cortech Scarab winter gloves, and Olympia winter gloves, and I really don't like any of them.
My favorites are the Aerostich "Vegan" gloves; they're not leather as you desire but Aerostich also makes leather gloves, and I'm ordering a pair of their winter gloves soon. :thumbup:

Happiness is a pair of Held gloves. They are just perfect. I dont know how else to describe them.

In my mind the best value in gloves available today.

I have bought at least 10 different pairs of gloves.

Second best were the elkskind touring gauntlet gloves from aerostich. They were a good pretty comfy glove. The Held Steve glove is light years ahead of even second best.

I wear them when its too cold to really wear them because they are so comfortable.

I actually enjoy putting them, and the feel wearing them.

I guess the best way to put it is this. If you buy these gloves they will become your favorite gloves.

Ask anyone that owns a pair.

+1 to Held gloves but I didn't see a wrist length glove on their internet site. I have learned to only buy gloves that I can try on as each company can be different in sizing.

I have a pair of icon merc long gloves and a pair of the icon tarmac 3 gloves I like both. They fit well and are pretty durable.

I have a pair of Icon Hooligan 2 gloves. Very comfortable and flexable. Its easy to forget you are wearing them

Keep in mind that some magazines do not advise carbon fiber knuckles. If you hit hard enough to break them they can send fibers (think wood splinters) into you hand.

I have a pair of Icon Hooligan 2 gloves. I really like them. However, they are not full leather. They have a textile top and leather palm and thumb.

I've been using Hooligan 2's for the last 2 riding seasons and was pretty pleased with them until the seams started to tear open. I'm probably going to replace them in a few weeks with one of the following:

A* 3/4 Glove:

I crashed once in a pair of Icon Super Duty gloves. They are short leather gloves with padding, a lot like many of the gloves mentioned in this thread.

While no glove will protect you from everything, I expect them to at least try, and damage themselves to save me. These survived the crash perfectly well - but not my hand, which was well lacerated and had a finger broken in two places, enough that the marrow was leaking out.

I decided then not to scrimp on gloves. I bought a pair of Racer High Ends - gauntlets with armor on the knuckles, fingers, wrist, and palm. Kangaroo leather, excellent construction. After many years of happiness with those, I found a great deal on Alpinestars Stella GP Plus gloves, which are almost a copy-cat design with moderately cheaper materials. Both have crashed a number of times on the track, and both have protected my hands well.

If I had bigger hands, I would consider the GP Pro. But I highly recommend the Racer High End, especially for women with small hands who have so few decent options in gear.

^+1 on the good gloves. You only get the one set of hands. Having crushed my fingers on both hands and been unable to wipe my own butt, hardly feed myself, unable to dress myself, unable to drive or open doors ect ect I am a big fan of good gloves.

Good boots, good gloves, good helmet, good knee and elbow armor and a good spine pad. Those parts of your body dont heal well and are hard to replace.

Crush the tips of your fingers and ask a doctor what they can do. Nothing is the answer. To many nerves.

Also it really really really really freaking hurts. Not just a little but alot and its all the time, and its for the rest of your life.

What is the protective difference between a 3/4 glove and gauntlet style glove? I assume I'm missing something that may be more clear to someone with more experience in riding than me.
