like most people this guy probably veiws the busa as the pinnacle of modern biking and in his mind ..a MANS bike..kina like saying women should stick to driving small hatchbacks..

just laugh him off and exercise your sig

Steph...you have come on here and told us all what you think...Now stop being diplomatic with this Ars""le and tell him what you really think.

It makes no difference what you say because he sounds like a chauvenist pig.

The only thing he will understand is "f.... oFF .

Steve

What does he ride? Odds are, it's a less manly bike than the busa. (I can say this because I have ridden a pink Vespa in public.)

So it'll be pretty easy to compare your bike to his and tell him that he's not man enough for your bike.

Also, if there are any further problems with the ownership of your Busa being misinterpreted, a coat of pink paint will do wonders. And a pink Busa would be cool.

Agree with all the above. Don't let it bother you, and he'll find something else to try to get your attention with.

Does this "friend" bother Jim as well? IMO Jim should be the one to set him straight. I really think he's just jealous cause his wife is still riding a Rebel 250.

But, if you wanna go the other route...........make sure you dig the hole deep enough. :D

When I mention motorcycles to a guy who rides and Rob is not around (nor am I on my bike, whether it is with me or not, I don't just sit on it), IF I get asked if I ride, which I usually don't, I have to explain that I have my own bike that I pilot all by myself, and am not just a passenger. It is frustrating, but until people's mindsets change, it is something we girls have to deal with. I get told often that an SV650 is too much bike for me, so I can't even imagine what things will be like for you in random parking lots....

Ever hear the riddle:

A surgeon is called in to help with a vehicle accident. There was a man and his son in the crash. The surgeon is asked to work on the boy, and upon entering the room states "I can't perform surgery on this child. It is my son." How is this possible?

Today, we wouldn't even think twice about the answer, but when my mom was in college, no one could figure out that the surgeon could possibly be the mother. In a generation or two, rather than guys being shocked when a girl mentions she rides, or assuming she means on the back, they will ask, "Yeah, what bike and for how long? Ever do a track day? Do you race?" and on and on.....

IMO there's ain't allot of things that comes close to seeing a bigger muscle superbike pull up, see the driver get off, watch take the helmet off, and THEN realise that it's a woman !!!!!; Most women I know that rides, have to take alot of sheit from male riders, - and if you ride a super bike, - you really must love riding (due to all the crap other male riders will throw at you), - and for that I can only admire you. Nothing better that a passionate rider!!!

People that don't realise this, are in general cage-sitters or ignorant .... (Had to get it out :))

a HOT PINK bUSA WOULD BE COOL!!

:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:Females on Pink bikes with pink leathers are HOTT!!! :cheer::cheer::cheer::cheer: OH... Anyway, like said before, if my friend was giving my girl $hit and she didn't play along, I'd have to end that bad habit. It's one thing if you joke about it with eachother and it's friendly banter, but another if he's just being a dick. Then again, I've been accused of being over protective. I love the idea of a lil woman stretched out on a big bike...
.
.
Sorry, daydreamed for a minute. Like others have said before GO RIDE AND FORGET THOSE WHO DISPENSE $HIT TALK.

Not trying to say ANYTHING about your guy or what he should do... Just saying what I'd do

I just threw up.:ban:

Steph, I completely feel your anger... I ride a 125 commuter bike and my girlfriend rides the Fazer, and all I hear is "man that must REALLY pee you off that your girlfriend has a proper bike" and "wow you're brave to let her ride that"... and it absolutely does both of our heads in.

I'm damn proud of my girlfriend, in less than nine months she's gone from never having ridden a motorbike at all apart from a few goes on my old 50cc scooter, to passing her CBT and buying a 125 motorbike, and then doing a week long DAS course and buying her fazer. She's completely overtaken me as I'm still riding a 125 on a CBT, but then she has a good job and loads more disposable income so she can afford the training, and I completely support her in doing whatever she wants to do. Later on, I'll be the pillion on her bike!

At some point I'll also take my DAS and buy a bigger bike, but until then I'm quite happy to tell anyone that I'm the baby biker, it's my missus they need to speak to about the big bike parked outside!

Thanks for the input folks. I appreciate the backup. We decided the best way to deal with this moron is to completely ignore him. He is not happy unless there is some sort of drama in his life. He is now history, we don't need friends like that. Especially if we are going to be riding with him...he would be the idiot that decides to do some dingus thing to "prove his manhood" and get someone hurt or killed.

Beware the woman with PMS :D

Hey Steph, do you still wear those pig-tails on your helmet? I think its awesome that you got that bad-a$$ bike. It really looks futuristic! My sister is really sensitive about sexist remarks and I tell her to treat cracks like that like water off a ducks back, it wont stick. Your hubbie should back you if he knows it really gets your dander up. I'm not too sure about the pink 'Busa though....

I think you need to relax abit, maybe 2 hrs in the kitchen cooking your man a nice meal will make you feel better...no??....:D..kidding of course

ps. Beaut bike

yep, I still wear the pigtails! I love them. I know a couple people here think it is immature, but I figure if people in cages notice me more, why not wear them. And when little kids point at you when you are riding downtown and grinning....its a great feeling.

As for the pink bike...hmmm as my daughter says...I think I just threw up a little lol
