Drivers are not doing anybody a "favor" by opening up a gap for somebody else who can't see if it's safe to proceed.

Ain't that the truth!

My best wishes to "Wout" and his friends and family. I posted a small message on the FZ1 forum as well.

Prayers for a quick and complete healing for Wout, wisdom and skill for the doctors, and comfort for all during this crisis.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery comes from myself and my partner Jannie over here in Denmark.

The route to recovery is a long one, I know from my own experience.

We are thinking of you and wishing you well Wout..you too Amy...stay strong.

Get well soon Wout!! I had a very close friend go down a year ago, and it was the prayers and thoughts of others that pulled him through, so stay strong and keep on fighting!

Amy's latest update:

I spoke with Wout's doctor this morning, and they are considering
moving him to a specialty hospital to focus primarily on getting him off the
respirator, but also to do more vigorous physical and occupational
therapy. The move will pend on many factors, primarily approval from
insurance, and then, of course, his stability and availability of beds.
Someone from a facility in Durham came this morning to do an assessment,
and she expects to hear something by Thursday about approval.

This morning, a percussion module was attached to Wout's bed to help
break up the fluids in his lungs from the pneumonia. This makes the bed
shake and vibrate periodically, to shake things up. They are going to
remove his central lead today and begin giving him everything that went
through that line through IVs. They are hoping this will help bring
his fever down.

I also asked Wout's doctor this morning about where they considered out
to be as far as his status. He said that they use a scale called a
Glasgow scale to rate brain activity. Your and my activity would be at a
level of 15. He said that when Wout originally came in, that he was a
3, and that now they consider him to be a 7. So, that was good news
to me - he did say that Wout may never be at a level 15 again, but they
won't know for sure until he wakes up more, and they can do more
testing. I have not researched anything about the scales and other measures
they are using, because I know in my heart that Wout is getting better,
and I don't want to confuse myself with all the technical stuff. He
is hearing noises outside of his room and will try to look and see
what's going on. Yesterday, the nurse let me wash his hair with a special
shower cap that they have, and they had him in a chair, and he leaned
his head forward to help me put on the cap, and also to massage the back
of his head. So, I can see improvement every day, and I am thankful
for each step forward.

Please keep Wout in your prayers. I know that they are being heard,
and I feel in my bones that Wout is getting better with each passing day.

With love and many thanks,

Amy

Amy is working on getting a web site up and running so everyone can keep track of Wout's progress. I'll post the link when it is ready.
