Steve, Im behind you %100 in your build, IMHO I think the fz frame is a tad heavy for practical purposes, again thats just my opinion.

I'm in the middle of Gary Vogels, "How to build an electric motorcycle", and am interested in all forms of input. The biggest challenge seems in squaring up THE ELECTRIC MOTOR for final drive. Everything else is pretty abundant these days.

I've a 72' r5c that I can no longer justify overhauling, seems like a nice patient to experiment with, keep us posted.

I still want the answers to wavex's questions.

Predictions on:
Cost
Performance
Mileage per charge
Top speed
Etc

Sounds exciting, want figures!!!

Predictions on:

Cost: 3-5k USD
Performance: moderate, top speed of 65-70mph
Mileage per charge: dependent on how many batteries i can stuff into the frame. I am trying for 45-50 miles per charge

Someone gave me a 1983 Honda CB550c Nighthawk chassis so I'm getting there. :) I will post a pic of the chassis...i's not pretty but the frame is solid.
