Foot Pegs wobble?

I took my '08 in for the 600mi service (barely 3.5weeks after getting it!!) and when giving it the once over after riding home from the shop, I noticed that both the foot-pegs have some amount of play.

Let me qualify that -- if I pinch the back end of the protective plate that the front foot-pegs, gear lever and brake levers are mounted on, and wiggle it a little, there’s a tremendous amount of play. I did this just before riding out to work, and haven’t had a chance to open the service manual and look through it and possibly try to re-torque the mounting bolts.

I'm pretty sure that this wasn't a result of shoddy work at the shop; it may have always been this way. Anyway, just wondering if this is normal and if your FZs have a similar foot-peg shimmy.

I’ll inspect it some more once I get home and follow up on this thread.

I believe they are supposed to be that way because they are suspended by rubber bushings to eliminate vibration as such. The tail light is the same way if you decide to check it too and it will wobble. :thumbup:

At first me and my buddy's also thought something was wrong until i realized the rubber bushings are there to let it wobble abit to reduce the vibrations...lol
Plus i tried to tighten the screws but they were fine

The peg wobble was one of the first things I noticed on my new FZ6. Didn't see anything wrong with my pegs either....although the dealer missed lots of other stuff like a loose caliper and nearly empty coolant reserve tank.

I could have used that extra rubber on my old cruiser...but on the plus side a badly synch'd, single crank V-twin provides a good foot massage (heated too when your foot slips onto the header).
