Four very simple rules for doing well in the military:

1) Show up on time
2) Wear the right uniform
3) Do your job
4) Don't mouth off at the boss.

3 and 4 are mostly optional. As long as you don't go so far that you can't play the "I was just joking, sir" card, and as long as you do something you'll be alright.

But don't screw off when you're over there. And congratulations on being one of the few willing to serve. Boot camp is what you make of it.

The last one I always told the kids I sent off to boot camp......

If you have to ask yourself "Should I be doing this?" The answer is AUTOMATICALLY NO!
